Works

OFF-SITE (場外) is a Taipei-based collective that began as an independent art space in 2011. Its first intervention in the city’s public space came in 2018: a weekend exhibition in a traditional market, inviting visitors to consider how production, display and exchange shape the art ecosystem.

Exploring how people gather, use and change the spaces around them, OFF-SITE works across installations, exhibitions, pavilions, event spaces, shop interiors, workshops and curation. Each project begins with what a site already holds, what it lacks and what a few everyday materials can do about it, so that a market, a plaza or a museum hall can open up to the people around it. Every project is made with a different mix of collaborators.

From 2021, the collective ran Bridge Hole, an art project under a Taipei expressway. The space served as a fieldwork studio and exhibition venue, with weekly open studios.
